GTI Jouve: An XML indexing and search engine - Twenty years: Maturity and experience

GTI Jouve is the software package designed by the Jouve Company to store, index and search XML or SGML databases. It relies on an XML indexing engine and a SQL-based search engine. It is intended for voluminous databases with highly regular structures including high density full-text. Today, the biggest GTI handled databases reach the terabyte.

Our search engine has the capability to query up to several thousands characters for multiple criteria, based on Boolean and proximity operators, including jokers.

The GTI JOUVE search engine is unique on its market thanks to its ability to:

• Process multilingual documents.
• Manage relationships between indexed documents.
• Offer dedicated functions to terms highlighting and relevant display.
• Group, split and sort results based on multiple criteria.
• Sort according to linguistic and semantic relevance algorithm.

Moreover, our search engine offers the capability to full-text query in natural language. It includes cross-language searches for English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Dutch. Adjustable thesauri may be used, especially «professional» ones.

Our search engine offers assisted and automated multicriterion decision-aid functionalities to help the user in building efficient queries (fuzzy-search, phonetic search, display of indexed terms…).

GTI Jouve is ultimately an XML-enabled relational database dedicated to the strongest documentary searches.
