Jouve and Libri : partners in the eBook market

The Jouve Group, a pioneer in the market of electronic publishing (ebook, interactive books, publishing on demand…) and Libri, Germany’s leading book wholesaler, an indispensable trading partner for bookshops and publishers in Germany have signed a non-exclusive strategic partnership.

The publishing industry is experiencing deep changes; access to reading is in constant evolution and the means to reach the information tends to modernize with the emergence of new media like the electronic book (eBook). Today publishers worldwide want to appear on all the distribution channels to develop their sales and to take advantage of new business models based on electronic publishing.
Within this context, Jouve and Libri have decided to combine their respective skills.

Recognized skills complement each other

As a specialist in publishing content, The Jouve Group converts books to various eBook formats for its customers, including French and international publishers (in different languages : English, German, French, Swedish, Spanish…).

Over the years, the Jouve Group has capitalized on its experience in conversion of complex content, its knowledge of the different standards of electronic formats on the market and perfect command of multilingualism.

In 2007, Jouve announced the purchase of Publishing Dimensions, an American company located in New York and a leader in the production of electronic booksadapted to the various eBook formats.  With this new acquisition, Jouve has developed its service in the processing, conversion and digital distribution of multimedia contents with high added value.

The industrial dimension of Jouve and its ability to adapt its production line to the diversity and complexity of contents guarantee its customers the best service quality in terms of graphic rendering on various readers on the market but also in terms of cycle time and quality of the conversion.

The Libri group aims at diffusing and distributing contents supplied by publishers. As the market leader in Germany, Libri is acknowledged to be an innovative and dependable partner to the book trade.
With the eContent platform Libri.Digital, these wholesale services are consequently transferred to the digital world - eBooks and audio book downloads are available for all retail customers in our digital warehouse. Libri maintains business relationships to all German publishing houses, leading international publishers and international wholesale partners.

Boosted by their complementarities, Jouve and Libri have announced a non-exclusive partnership.
This partnership provides a unique opportunity for European and American publishers to convert their books to the various eBook formats and to distribute them in Germany through Libri.
